For the 2026-2028 cohort, the Dartmouth Society of Fellows welcomes applications for the fellowship categories outlined below.  All applications must be submitted via Interfolio.

1. Program in Cognitive Science

This fellowship is open to candidates with specialization in computational and empirical approaches to artificial and natural intelligence, including perception, representation, and planning in complex environments.

2. Department of Economics

This fellowship is open to candidates with specialization in economic history. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research involves novel approaches to large-scale historical data and intersects with other applied fields like labor, public finance, and political economy. The successful candidate will join an energetic and welcoming community of scholars working in these areas.

3. Department of Environmental Studies

This fellowship is open to candidates with specialization in forest carbon dynamics, climate policy, and nature-based solutions. The fellow will work at the intersection of forest ecology and environmental policy, investigating the effectiveness of forest carbon offset programs in meeting climate mitigation goals, with opportunities to engage across Dartmouth's interdisciplinary climate and sustainability networks.

4. Department of Geography

This fellowship is open to candidates with specialization in critical human geography. This position will complement and augment the Department's strengths in Black geographies, urban geographies, feminist geographies, political ecology, climate science, and the geospatial sciences
